Job Description

Family Law Litigation Attorney

A growing Florida law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Litigation Attorney to join its team. This is a fully remote opportunity for an attorney who enjoys litigation, courtroom advocacy, and guiding clients through complex probate disputes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in probate, family law, or civil litigation and be comfortable managing cases independently from inception through trial. This role offers the flexibility of remote work while handling challenging and meaningful legal matters.

Position Overview

The Family Law Litigation Attorney will be responsible for managing contested probate matters, representing clients in hearings and trials, developing case strategy, and working closely with clients throughout the litigation process.

This position is best suited for an attorney who thrives in a litigation environment and has a proven track record of courtroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage probate litigation matters from intake through resolution
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
  • Handle contested probate and estate administration matters
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and opposing counsel
  • Prepare witnesses and evidence for hearings and trial
  • Meet deadlines and effectively manage a litigation caseload

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Florida Bar license in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 years of probate, family law, or civil litigation experience
  • Trial experience, including first-chair or significant courtroom responsibilities
  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment

Preferred

  • Litigation experience
  • Experience handling contested estates, wills, trusts, and fiduciary disputes
  • Family law litigation background
  • Mediation and settlement negotiation experience
