Registered Nurse (RN) GI/Endoscopy / PACU / Perioperative

Shift: Four (4) 10-Hour Day Shifts | Shared On-Call Rotation

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care throughout the Outpatient Services department, with a primary focus on GI/Endoscopy . The RN delivers perioperative, pre-operative, intra-procedural, and post-anesthesia care while floating throughout the outpatient service areas, including Day Surgery, Endoscopy Lab, PACU, Pre-Operative Clinic, and conscious sedation procedures performed throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for GI/Endoscopy patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Deliver perioperative and post-anesthesia nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide pre-operative education and patient preparation.
• Monitor patients during recovery and recognize post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.
• Assist with conscious sedation procedures throughout the hospital.
• Float to assigned outpatient service areas, including:
  • Day Surgery
  • Endoscopy Lab
  • Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
  • Pre-Operative Clinic
  • Special procedures requiring conscious sedation
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Strong GI/Endoscopy nursing experience required.
• PACU and perioperative nursing experience preferred.

Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

Required Certifications

• BLS.
• ACLS.
• PALS.

Schedule

• Four (4) 10-hour day shifts.
• Shared on-call rotation.

General Certifications

• BLS/BCLS
• ACLS
• PALS
