Bergen County, New Jersey, Nursing Home Physician Job

Clinical Role:

• Seeking board certified or board eligible physicians
• Open to physicians trained in:
  • Geriatrics
  • Internal Medicine
  • Palliative Care/Hospice
  • Family Medicine
• Provide primary medical care to nursing home patients throughout Bergen County
• Conduct patient assessments, review medical histories, and evaluate lab and imaging results
• Diagnose medical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and treatment regimens while monitoring allergies and side effects
• Provide lifestyle and dietary counseling to improve patient health outcomes
• Collaborate closely with nursing home staff, specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Refer patients to subspecialists when appropriate
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control efforts, and patient safety programs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within eClinicalWorks EMR
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state/federal privacy regulations
• Ideal candidate enjoys collaborative, team-based patient care and improving outcomes in the nursing home setting

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency program or U.S. residency/5-year pathway
• Active New Jersey medical license required
• DEA and DPS registration required or obtainable during credentialing
• Experience with EMR systems preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical judgment skills

• Annual salary range approximately $190,000–$240,000
