Job Description

Virginia Family Dentistry is looking for an experienced Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our Chester team!

Pay range is $20-$25/hour based on experience.

Hours are 8 am-5 pm Monday-Friday.

The Insurance Coordinator verifies and updates insurance information to patient accounts. This role also files claims, completes pretreatment estimates, and follows up with the insurance companies in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
• Verify insurance and update patient account prior to the appointment
• Update insurance carrier notes and coverage tables
• Point of contact for patients and staff on insurance
• File all insurance claims daily
• Reconcile insurance claims to patient accounts
• Work with insurance companies on refunds
• File all pre-authorizations daily
• Follow up on pre-authorizations aged 30+ days
• Coordinate with doctor, hygiene, or specialist coordinator once pre-authorization is received
• Analyze insurance aged reports (except if that office has centralized insurance)

Minimum Qualifications
• 3 or more years of dental office experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
