The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting a general dentistry practice by preparing patients, assisting the dentist chairside, and ensuring efficient operation throughout the day. With a high patient volume often exceeding 13 patients daily, this position requires moderate to full autonomy, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in practice management software to maintain smooth workflow and patient care quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure comfort
• Provide chairside assistance during examinations and treatments
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Take dental impressions accurately for diagnostic or restorative purposes
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage inventory
• Assist with radiography procedures following safety protocols
• Educate patients on oral health and post-treatment care
• Support scheduling and coordinate patient flow
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues

Required Qualifications

• Certification in radiation safety and dental radiography
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques
• Proven skills in chairside assisting and patient communication
• Competence in record management and time management
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a dental team

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a dental assistant
• High school diploma or equivalent
